Post subject: | Sharing A Blessing |
Tonight at Church our praise and worship leader sang a song called I Want To Sing A Song For You Lord that he sang at B.J.s visitation the night before his funeral. Every time he sings it I'm blessed because I know that everyone there is thinking about B.J. while it's being sang. Right in the middle he stopped and said he had something he wanted to say. He told the Church he was singing it in memory of B.J. and told the story of how B.J. came up to him not long before he died and told him...Brett I want to sing a song and he asked him ok what song do you want to sing? and he said I don't care I just want to sing a song. B.J. was part of our praise and worship leadership too. That's why Brett sang that song at B.J.'s visitation and that's the reason it means so much to me. Anyway...after it was over the Pastor asked if anyone had a testimony they wanted to share. Well of course I did. I thanked Brett for remembering B.J. and talked of how the Lord has been faithful to me and carried me all this time. I thanked my Church family for always being there for me even though they don't really begin to understand this kind of grief...they haven't lost a child. Then I told them I wanted them to keep my friends here in their prayers even though they don't know any of you. I told them I could name everyone of you and tell your child's story (the ones I've been told) but I didn't think it was necessary because the Lord knows who you are even if they don't. When I sat down my Pastor said (this is where the blessing I'm sharing comes in) let's pray for them now. So my whole Church stopped everything else right then and began to lift you all up in prayer for healing for your broken hearts and for strength and comfort during these holidays. It was awesome! I'm sorry this was so long but I just really wanted to share it with you. I know we all have different beliefs and I really hope this doesn't offend anyone. That is not my intention at all. Together and with the Lord's help, we are going to make it. Love, Cindy |

Oh Cindy, I just read your post, and I am touched. I have such a difficult time going to church, though my life, heart, and faith is in God...I have shared this with you before. Anyways, reading what your congregation did out of love for BJ, you, and for us, people they don't even know, reminded me of why I cling onto the hope that I can walk into church without tears again...I miss my church family so much...but I hurt when I don't see Garion there. Your love for us and the love your church has for all of us has brightened a moment in my day. Love you hun!!!!! And thank you so much for thinking of us. Hugs, Lynda |

Cindy, I want to say "Thank you" for having your congregation pray for us and our angels. But, Thank you does not even come close to the gratitude I feel. You are a wonderful caring, sharing person for remembering our pain while you are in the midst of your own. BJ is so proud of you. Much love, Lucy |

Cindy, I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for what you did. It means so much to me. A person, no matter the situation, can never have too much prayer. It was so very nice of you to remember all of us in your prayers at church. I love you my dear friend, ~Tonya~ |

My special friends, there is no thanks that are needed. I love you all so much and I know if my Church family was given the chance they would too. I have to say that ever since they prayed last night I've felt the Lord so much stronger than I have in a while. Just thinking about His goodness makes me want to cry. He's just been so good to me. Love you all, Cindy |

Dear Cindy, You may not realize it...maybe it isn't for you to realize...but you are such an inspiration to me! Your faith, through everything you have been through, the ups and downs, ALWAYS comes back to loving God unconditionally...even when you don't understand His ways...you love Him...and I love reading about your love for Him. Hugs, Lynda |
