The Compassionate Friends Group is having it's world wide candle light service tomorrow evening at 7:00 pm. This web site shows candle lighting ceremonies all over the world.

My family has been going to it every year since B.J. died. The first time was on Dec.12th when he died on Dec.1st. It's a beautiful way to honor our children's memory and keep them a part of the holidays. I know it's not for everyone but even if you can't attend in person you can light a candle at 7:00pm your time and join with all the other grieving parents around the world in memory of our children.
I'm going to be reading the poem My Mom Is A Survivor at ours and my two girls are going to sing a song each. Kayla is singing I Can Only Imagine and Sarah is singing I've Never Been More Homesick Than Now. Please pray for us...as much of an honor as it is to be asked to do this we're about nervous wrecks. There is usually around 150 people that attend the Wave of Light where we go.
I'll let you know how is goes. And I'll be remembering all of our children during this time.
Love, Cindy

My 'local' chapter isn't participating in this as tomorrow is their regular meeting day so they are doing the candle lighting after their regular meeting (which starts at 2). I've never been down there (it's at least 45 minutes away) but we are going to go tomorrow and they are going to try to help us get a chapter set up here. All it takes is 3 interested families and I know we are interested and we know at least one other family that has lost a child and might be interested so we are gonna try to bring awareness to child loss closer to home. *hugs* I love you girl! Take lots of pics and post them for us! Sending many prayers to you and your family.

Love,
Crystal

Although we will be home by 7 pm so we are going to light Melody's oil candle in her memorial stone that is in her star 'garden' under her window. Definitely will be plenty of candle lighting here. Thank you for the reminder sweetie!

Love,
Crystal

Dear Cindy,
I missed it this time around :( But I would love to hear how everything went. We played the song "Homesick" at Garion's celebration of life given by his best friends and it is also the song on his website....I bet there wasn't a dry eye tonight. HUGS!
Hugs,
Lynda
