Post subject: | I NEED HELP! |
As many of you are aware, Kalels angeldate is on Monday. We are going to the cemetery to release balloons with messages written to him. I have also made tshirts for everyone attending. I have made baskets of christmas food to give to the people that helped in his death. Like the ambulance, mortuary, cemetery, etc. But I really really need suggestions on things to do for that day. My families are taking off work to be there and want something to do in his honor and hopefully something that can help someone in return. ANY suggestions would be much appreciated no matter how small they seem! Thank you and love you all so much!!! Latrisha |

Latrisha, Get a small guest book and make sure it's labeled as the first anniversary and have everyone sign it. Plant a tree in your yard in Kalel's honor. Make sure sure to take pictures of the planting. The pictures will warm your heart in years to come. You can have a metal plaque created for the tree to honor Kalel.........with all the information on it. It will become part of that tree, even if you should sell the house and move years from now. No-one would ever take that plaque off.......... it becomes a sacred honor to take care of the tree. Another thought is to have a poem, or a love note to Kalel, with his picture on it, in your daily newspaper. I did for Scott and I laminated it and saved it with his burial things. I haven't forgotten that Kalel's date is coming up. I feel a sadness in my heart as it approaches. What a terrible year to endure. My love is with you, jane |

Dear Latrisha, First, let me say that I will be thinking of you and your family on this difficult day (((HUGS))). Call any one of us if you need to talk some, even if it is for a moment, we are all here for you. Second, I LOVE the ideas Jane has given to you. In fact, I may use the idea of putting a plaque on Garion's "thinking" tree (the tree he is in in a lot of his photos). Thank you Jane for sharing this idea! As for us Latrisha, we have a "heavenly dinner" on Garion's angelversary...this consists of banana splits for dinner ![]() Hugs, Lynda |

Lynda is right, it doesn't have to be formal or huge, even a prayer. Kalel knows how much you love him and miss him and I know that God is aware of it. If you do decide to plant a tree, every year, as long as you can, measure it and record it's growth in that year's book or anniversary picture. Take a picture every single year, when the tree is tall enough you can stand under it, you'll know that Kalel is touching the tips of it with his fingers and sending love to you in the green leaves it produces each summer. When it grows too big for you to put your arms around it and hug it, you'll know that Kalel is growing up in heaven.......... A tree represents life........ and what a precious, sacred life it would represent for Kalel. I'm sure you know, on the 17th we will shed many tears with you and send prayers to heaven for Kalel and also for you. God knows how much love we all share for precious little Kalel.......... God Bless you, love, jane |
