Please pray for my little girl. She has a birthmark that is 5ml larger than what they like to leave alone and it is showing irregularities, itching, changing color, etc. I called our family dr this morning because it started to bleed. They had her in the office in a matter of 10 minutes and scheduled her appointment with the plastic surgeon for tomorrow morning. The doctor we will be seeing tomorrow will talk to us about having it surgically removed and then we will send it off to be tested. Please pray for Calyn's anxieties (and mine) and also for this to be nothing major. I appreciate it sooo much!
Hugs,
Lynda

Lynda, Of course I will pray for you both. Most probably nothing to worry about. When my younger sister was born she had a birth mark on her chin. We used to call it her penny. When she was about 10 is started to puff up and grew hair. My parents had it removed and everything was fine. Even the scar faded away after a few years.

Thank you so much for the prayers. Calyn has what is called a Congenital Nevus, which is actually a mole (we always called it her birthmark). Our concern is the recent itching, bleeding (started this past weekend), nodules (there are 2), and pigment changes. They like to remove anything over 16mm and hers measured at 21mm today. As I know more I will keep you all updated. The appointment for tomorrow is to talk to the surgeon. I am going to have her fast after midnight tonight just to be prepared in any case he can go ahead and remove it tomorrow...the sooner the better as far as I am concerned. I am not sure how long it will take to receive the test results back, but I will definitly let you know as soon as I receive them. Thanks again for the prayers!
Hugs,
Lynda

Lynda, congenital means that it was present since birth. Nevus is the medical term for mole. So "birthmark" is a pretty accurate description.
