Dear Carla, You can count on prayers being said for you in here. I am also on meds. I have been on Lexapro, Xanax, and Welbuterin XL. Now I am just on the Welbuterin XL. All the other meds were trial and error until we found the one that would work best for me with the least side affects. It did take me a couple of weeks of trying each one, so please don't give up if your doctor thinks they will help. Nothing will make things better, but at least there is something out there to help us help ourselves with our daily responsibilities.(((HUGS))) Hugs, Lynda |

[b]Carla.....I will keep you in my prayers. I, too, am on medication. Like Lynda, it took a little while to find the right one, but once you do, you'll know. Hang in there and take one day at a time. We're all here for you. |

Dear Lynda, Your words said it perfectly and really struck a cord of truth with me: Nothing will make things better, but at least there is something out there to help us help ourselves with our daily responsibilities I can't add anything to your words because they are so true and powerful. Thank you , Dear Lynda, for sharing with us. And Carla, everyone is right on track...work with your doctor til you find the right meds and amounts for you. I am sending you love. |

I'm on meds as well and it was trial and error for me too. If you would like to read about it, my journey with meds, depression, and life in general is in my blogs at www.myspace.com/crystaltester. Just friend request me and you can read them. Good luck to you and I pray that the meds will give you some way of dealing and coping day-to-day. We are all here for you if you need us. *hugs* |

Dear Carla, I've been on meds since just before I lost my son, right after we lost our daughter. I'm taking Cymbalta for the depression and Xanax for my panic attacks. My panic attacks are fewer but I still struggle with the depression. That's better also, but I find meds really don't do anything for the grief, except give me the strength to face it and try to find a way through it. I really don't think a medication exists that will take away the grief........except maybe the strongest of sedatives..........but we can't live on those and we can't sleep away the rest of our lives..... so we do the best we can. Good luck, it's a first step toward survival. Remember, it takes 2 -3 week for the effects to begin showing. love, hugs, prayers, jane |
