Just to let you know,

My husband and I will be celebrating our 32nd anniversary on October 11. We always go to Lincoln City, Oregon for a couple days. It's right on the beach and we love to go just hang around and maybe do a little shopping at the outlet mall.

So, I won't be posting for a few days.

We take our dogs and let them run on the beach.........but this time there's a huge storm coming in. So, we might take a few good books and sort of "hole up" in our room with a great view of the ocean and just watch the storm. I think getting away for a couple days will be very good for us.

I love all of you and miss you already.

Love,
jane

Jane,

I hope you have a wonderful time! Mind if I ask where you stayed? My husband and I were married in Lincoln City on 10/21/06. We spent our wedding night at The Starfish Manor. We are going back to the beach for our 1-year anniversary (married anyway) and are debating where to stay. We have a limited budget and are trying to decide if we should stay one night at Starfish Manor or 2 nights somewhere cheaper. My wallet and heart are torn! lol

The beach is so peaceful and relaxing. I cannot wait to go! Hubby and I definitely need some US time. :)

Thank you everyone for all your wonderful best wishes.

Drea, we stayed at the Chinook Winds Casino Resort........... I like to play the slots sometimes and since I have a player's club card, the rates are pretty good ($69) per night, it's right on the beach so you have a wonderful view of the huge waves crashing in on the shore.......... and the best part........They allow pets.

We always take our two dogs and let them run on the beach. Sophie, our black lab, is now mature enough we can turn her loose, but my poor little beagle, Ahni........ has to stay on her leash. Once a beagle starts on a scent chase.........she wouldn't stop, no matter how many times I call her.

This is Ahni last December 1st, when I first got her. She was my baby, and still is.

Sophie is one year older but she was never jealous........she took care of her right from the start. I always take one of their blankets so they don't lay directly on the bedding... and they sleep together, not like this anymore because Ahni is full grown now... but they're still good friends. Scott brought Sophie home in December of 2005 for us. We'd had a black lab that we all adored but at age 16 we had to make the decision to let him go. Frank never has gotten over that. So, Scott got Sophie for him and she filled his heart and arms, as Ahni did mine. I was still working when Frank got Sophie so they spent all day together every day. She loves me, but she's my husbands dog, and she's very clear about that.

They keep me busy and give love totally & unconditionally.......... and for the past year, I really needed my little baby girl, Ahni, to snuggle up and sleep with me in the chair and to always be there for me, she's never let me down.

I'm glad to be back, I love all of you.

Drea, the rates might not apply just to the player's club....... look up Chinook Winds Casino Resort and check on them.

We use to always stay at the Inn at Spanish Head, but they don't allow pets so we don't stay there anymore.......... but we do eat dinner there........ good food.
love,
jane

We were married at Chinook Winds! Not inside the casino, but down in the reception rooms under the restaurant across from the hotel.

I LOVE YOUR BEAGLE!! We have a Puggle (Pug/Beagle mix) and ever since getting him I have fallen more in love with Beagles than ever! Once he's at least a year old we want a second dog. We're debating between another Puggle or a Beagle. I have had the name Sophie picked out for my puppy for years now. Our Puggle ended up being a boy (a personality you can't say no to) so we had to settle with Mason. But how funny you're dog is a Sophie! :)

Our Mason will NOT come back when we let him loose so he must stay on a leash as well. Darn those stubborn Beagles  Perhaps next time you're in Portland Lucy can bring Laura's pug, I can bring Mason and you can bring your pups for a get together?

I'm glad you had a good time! Welcome back :)
