Dear Carla,
This is a wonderful idea!!! I actually haven't read too many books on grief (most of my reading is romance/mystery...it is my escape from this life I now live) but I keep meaning to pick up a particular one Lucy had read and recommend. I have it written down somewhere to take with me to the library. I will post it if Lucy doesn't beat me to it. There is a book I have read...I need to find it too. I am so scattered brained and don't remember them, but I will post them shortly. Until then, I am interested in reading what others have read.
Hugs,
Lynda

The book Lynda is referring to is called:

"I Wasn't Ready to Say goodbye"
Brook Noel and Pamela Blair

I bought it from Amazon a few weeks after Laura died. It is the only one I could find that dealt with sudden loss. I really got a lot out of it and highly recommend.

Carla,

I've read so many books since Clint was killed, but the one that I keep handy is "Healing After Loss ~ Daily Meditations for Working Through Grief" by Martha Whitmore Hickman.

It really is a wonderful, helpful, comforting book written by a grieving mother.

Hugs,
Susan

One of the things on my to-do list this week is get a library card for the county we moved in two years ago! What great timing! I think one book a month is a great idea! My husband and I have just started getting back into reading and the hardest part for me is finding something I can get into. This is a wonderful idea!! :)

I had tried to order a book a few times on line but each time it was on back order, so I didn't get it. Then towards the end of November 2006, I came across it in Barnes & Nobles. I bought it and began reading it. In December 2006, my grandmother died. I'm glad I had this book. Then, of course in March, Laura died and so I read it again. This book has helped me so much in dealing with grief and death. It is called "No Death No Fear" written by Thich Nhat Hanh. I am so thankful I got this book when I did and highly recommend it to anyone.
