I HAD SOMEONE COMPARE ME LOSING CHRIS TO THEIR HUSBAND HAVING A AFFAIR.SINCE CHRIS WENT TO HEAVEN IVE HAD SO MANY WELL MEANING PEOPLE SAY OFF THE WALL AND USELESS THINGS TO US,BUT THIS 1 TOPS THEM ALL.SHE SAID I NEED TO LET GO OF MY FEELINGS ,LIKE SHE DID?????IM SORRY IM VENTING.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? How is it even possible that someone would compare the loss of a child to a spouse having an affair??? Geez, now I really think that I've heard them all. What a very cold and heartless thing to say. Evidently, she has never experienced the loss of a child, therefore, she would have no clue as to how it really feels.

Carla, I'm sorry. Some people just really don't have a clue. This is the kind of people we need to stay away from because they do more harm than good.
I know it's probably no good for me to say don't let them get to you because they already have. But...you just listen to the ones that understand and know in your heart that there is no comparison. And if they think there is...well, I'm glad I'm not their child is all I can say.

I'm so very sorry someone hurt you like that.

I've learned to just walk away when someone says something so ridiculous to me. Walking away may sound rude, but it's better than them having to experience MY anger or frustration at their words, and at this point I'm tired of explaining over and over and over again what it feels like to have my son in heaven.

I feel your hurt my friend, and I'm truly sorry you had to experience that, I really am.

thank you,i was just so upset,i think once its been a year people arnt as gentle with you and they look at you as surely your over losing your child.i have learned i will never be over losing Chris,i have to learn to live with this big hole in my heart for the rest of my life till Jesus takes me home.I will once again just walk away like jo said,i used to do that

Carla,
That woman is clueless. I am sorry she hurt you. We are told so many platitudes that pierce our hearts. About 2 days after Krystal was killed, my boss came into my home, went to the bedroom where i was totally incapacitated lying in bed and sobbing. He told me to get up. I told him no. Then he told me to get up because i looked terrible. I told him I would not get up and i did not care if i looked terrible.

Then he told me God took Krystal because God needed another angel in heaven. That is just one of many hurtful things people have told me. And yes, after a year they expect you to "be over it' and have "closure." Excuse me, closure is for bank accounts not our love for our precious child. I will love and miss Krystal with every breath I take.
