Post subject: | I lost my Grandpa |
I lost my Granpda to old age although he had multiple things wrong with him, I believe it was old age that took him. He was in and out of the hospital and nursing homes for his last 3 months, I was there everyday. It was the best time I ever spent with my Grandpa. He cried out in fear and showed me a side of him I never knew. We talked of old times and he shared with me every memory of his life that meant anything to him. I felt blessed. My Grandpa was suffering and when he decided to let go and follow GOD, I found much happiness for him. Sorrow for me but how could I be so selfish, he told me everything he wanted. When I received multiple sympathy cards the one that touched me the most was this one: I Did Not Die Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle Autumn’s rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush. I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there; I did not die. I will cherish this card forever! |
