I am aching today for my best friend's brother Elliott, who drowned at the Oregon Coast on July 3, 2007. He was 16 years old. I saw a picture of him taken just minutes before he died with his friends on the beach. He was such a happy young man. He was so caring and such a good son. My husband and I drove to Cannon Beach to see him in the play Fiddler on the Roof earlier this year. He loved acting, and had quite the talent for it. I was looking forward to seeing what he'd end up doing when he was older. 16 is just too young. My heart aches for his entire family. He was loved by so many. At his funeral in Portland, the church was full and we all had to scrunch up to make room for everyone. They all had such wonderful things to say about him. Why him? Why that day? |
